Women of the Blues, Night 2 | Sat. Nov 7th, 5pm

1 Sandy Pickett
Southern Indiana Blues, Straight from the Heart

Kicking off Night Two of Women in the Blues, Southern Indiana blues woman Sandy Pickett brings music that comes straight from the heart.

A singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Sandy brings both artistic accomplishment and a deep commitment to community. Her recognition includes induction into the Southeast Indiana Musicians Hall of Fame in 2017.

Throughout her career, Sandy has used music not only to entertain, but to create connection, encourage young musicians and help give voice to survivors of domestic violence. Her work with the collaborative SHIFT project reflects a belief in music as a force for awareness, healing and hope.

That combination — accomplished musician, Southern Indiana roots and music with purpose — makes Sandy a fitting artist to open Saturday’s Women in the Blues celebration.
